Waxing
Strip & Hot Wax
Waxing is a hair removal process using either strip or hot wax, depending on the area being treated. It removes the hair from the root, meaning that hair growth becomes thinner. It is recommended to rebook every 4-5 weeks. Hair needs to be at least 0.5cm long - too short and the wax won't grip it, too long and it may need to be trimmed first! I use Perron-Rigot wax, a professional brand that is one of the leading brands in the industry.
Strip (or warm) wax is applied to the skin and then strips of woven paper are smoothed over the wax and then removed quickly, removing the wax and hair from the skin.
Hot wax is applied in a similar way, but it is left to cool and harden on the skin, shrink wrapping the hair. A corner of the wax is then lifted and the wax is pulled from the skin, removing the hair with it. This wax is recommended for more sensitive areas.
STRIP WAX...
Half Leg = £13 Hair is removed hair from the knee down and can include the feet and toes.
3/4 Leg = £15 Hair is removed from the mid-thigh down and can include the feet and toes.
Full Leg = £17 All hair is removed from the entire leg and can include feet and toes.
Half Arm = £9 Hair is removed from the elbow down and can include hands and fingers.
Full Arm = £12 All hair is removed from the shoulder down and can include hands and fingers.
HOT WAX...
Under Arm = £7 Hair is removed from the armpit area.
Bikini Line = £10 Hair is removed from the bikini line only = any hair that would be exposed outside of the knicker line.
Eyebrows = £6 The 'fluffy' hairs are removed from underneath and between the eyebrows. Please note, this is not a reshaping service.
Back = £23 The hair is removed from the entire back, from the trouser line up to shoulders.
Premium Back = £38 The hair is removed from the entire back, from the trouser line up and also includes removing hair from the shoulders, upper arms and neck. An after wax oil is gently massaged over the waxed area to soothe and hydrate.
STRIP / HOT WAX
Upper Lip = £3 / £4 The hairs from the moustache area and down to the corner of the mouth are removed.
Chin = £3 / £4 The hairs from the chin are removed.
Aftercare Advice for Waxing
For the first 24 hours...
- No sunbathing or sunbeds
- Avoid swimming, hot showers, saunas or steam rooms
- Avoid excessive exercise / sweating
- Do not apply make-up after facial waxing
- Do not use deodorant or anti-perspirant after underarm waxing
- Avoid tight clothing
- Do not use perfumed products on the area
- Don't apply self-tanning products
- Avoid touching or picking at the area
After 24 hours...
To reduce ingrown hairs and dry skin, apply gentle friction to the area / exfoliate and apply moisturising cream.
Please be aware that the following will prevent treatment
- Infectious skin diseases (area being treated dependent)
- Severe varicose veins (area being treated dependent)
- Sunburn (area being treated dependent)
- Diabetes
- Taking roaccutane acne treatment - must wait until 6 months after course of treatment
- Using steroid creams - must wait until 3 months after course of treatment
- Taking antibiotics - must wait until 2 weeks after course of treatment
